June 2019 Chapter Meeting
Where the Rubber Meets the Road
As business analysis professionals, we already “know” what we do. However, can you articulate what you do in an elevator conversation? It’s good that we “know” our job, but it’s even better if we can clearly explain it, so that we can all better champion the value that business analysis brings to our organizations.
Join us this month, as we host a facilitated exercise to discover the specific business analysis tasks that you perform on your job, and how those tasks align with the six Knowledge Areas outlined in the BABOK v3. This exercise will provide attendees the collective bonus of discovering how business analysis jobs differ across companies, departments, and domains in the Kansas City area.
If time permits, we will also take a brief look at the Underlying Competencies described in Chapter 9 of the BABOK v3 to consider how we might improve our own effectiveness (thereby increasing our value), as well as the Perspectives (Chapter 11) to understand how business analysis jobs might differ from one domain to another.
